Woman's Hour presenter Jenni Murray has admitted that she has not shaved her armpits for almost 50 years, saying she is "proudly and defiantly hirsute".

And she's not alone. Almost one in four young women have stopped shaving their underarms, according to recent research. In 2013, 95 per cent of women 16-24 said they removed underarm hair. In 2016, this was just 77 per cent.
