Tammy Slaton‘s romance with husband Caleb Willingham played out during season 4, documenting his proposal that left Tammy speechless, as well as their wedding day in March. The pair had a whirlwind romance but it abruptly ended after Willingham tragically died months later.

September/October 2022
Tammy Slaton met Caleb while at the same weight loss rehab facility in Ohio. Sparks were flying between them just days after Tammy joined the facility and they quickly started dating and shared their first kiss.
October 2022
By late October, Caleb popped the question to Tammy after just three weeks of dating. He proposed in the rehab center parking lot and his delighted soon-to-be bride agreed with no hesitation.
“I’ve never felt this way about anyone,” Tammy gushed.
November 2022
The TLC stars tied the knot on November 20, 2022, sharing their special day with 30 of their closest family and friends at the rehab center. Tammy wore a white gown, tiara, and a veil, while her fiance wore a black polo shirt and trousers with brown suspenders.
February 2023
Tammy left the Ohio facility in February 2023 after reaching her goal weight. US Sun reports that she stood at just over 400lbs after a 14-month stay, meaning she dropped half her size. Caleb remained at the facility.
The outlet also claimed the pair were experiencing marital issues as long distance took a toll.
April 2023
Tammy and Caleb split rumors sparked after the latter stated they were “married by paper only” in a now-deleted Facebook post, as seen in Reddit screenshots.
“Her decision, not mine. It was more than that,” he wrote. “I’m hurt, mad, confused, and alone even with others around.” Despite the post, Caleb’s relationship status remained as “Married to Tammy Slaton” at the time.
May 2023
Papparrazi captured snaps of Tammy without her wedding ring, suggesting they were no longer married. However, she was wearing a band on her right hand.
June 2023
Caleb died at the age of 40 in late June 2023 after struggling with his health for years. The cause of death has not been released.

Tammy confirmed Caleb’s passing in a heartfelt Instagram tribute thanking him for “showing her real love and happiness.”
“I am devastated to share the news of my husband’s passing,” she told People. “He was my best friend and I loved him dearly.”
“When I met Caleb he became my guardian angel, and now he really is watching over me. Our families appreciate everyone’s sympathy and ask that you respect our privacy at this time,” she continued.

In November, Tammy showed fans a necklace and ring made of Caleb’s ashes and admitted that she experiences “separation anxiety” if she does not wear them.
The necklace is a treble clef symbol, a reference to their love for music, while the ring features Caleb’s textured fingerprint.
