Liz Cackowski is an American comedy writer, producer, comedian, and actress. After beginning her comedy career at The Second City in Chicago, she was hired as a writer for Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 2003 and stayed until 2006.
She wrote, produced, and starred in several episodes of the online faux talk show, "The Jeannie Tate Show." in 2007.
And in 2008, she appeared as "Liz Bretter" in the movie, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. In early 2009, Cackowski wrote and acted in the short-lived ABC sitcom, In the Motherhood.
Later that year, she was hired as a writer and story editor on Community during its first season. She not only wrote two episodes ("Social Psychology" and "Comparative Religion") but also appeared onscreen as a Greendale guidance counselor in the episodes.
She later moved on to work on another NBC sitcom, Up All Night. She is married to Saturday Night Live writer Akiva Schaffer, with whom she has two children, and is the sister of Craig Cackowski. The latter plays the recurring role of Officer Cackowski on Community.
Liz also played the role of Wendy, the realtor, in the comedy movie Neighbors in 2014 and its sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising in 2016.
