Alderson Lee Aldrich Arrested For Mass Shooting At Colorado Springs NightClub
Mia Lopez Alderson Lee Aldrich was arrested for a mass shooting incident that occurred in an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The police reported on Sunday that the mass shooting incident took place before midnight on Saturday.
It was reported that the suspect, named Alderson Lee Aldrich, who is 22 years old, entered the nightclub and began shooting. 5 people were murdered, while 25 others were injured.
A bartender at the LGBTQ nightclub named Daniel Davis Aston had died during the mass shooting. Aston’s mother, Sabrina Aston, confirmed that her son was 28 years old at the moment of his death.
His mother added, “He was our baby and he was our youngest. He had an older brother and they were 18 years apart.”
Aston moved from Oklahoma to Colorado, and within a few days, he made many friends as that was his personality, his mother said.
Another victim during the mass shooting caused by Alderson Lee Aldrich was identified as Tara Bush. She was also known as DJ T-Beatz. According to the reports from ABC News, they claimed that Tara said she was “Ok” and is currently under treatment in the hospital.
What Did Anderson Lee Aldrich Do?
On the night of Saturday, Anderson entered the nightclub and opened fire on everyone. As per Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez, Anderson used a long rifle in the shooting.
He added that two firearms were also found in his possession. Vasquez said two people tried to confront him, but Anderson didn’t listen. Later, the two men fought him and stopped him from further causing violence.
Vasquez also said, “We owe them a great debt of thanks.” The police are currently running an investigation and interrogating Anderson to find out the cause of his violent attack that killed five victims and left 25 in critical condition.
Vasquez ran an investigation to determine the relationship of the nightclub with the LGBTQ community, and he said that their community was in a “safe haven.”
He added, “Every citizen has the right to feel safe and secure in our city, to go about our beautiful city without fear of being harmed or treated poorly.”
When Did The Shooting begin?
The police said they were informed about the incident at 11:56:57 PM Saturday night. The police were dispatched to the incident spot at 11:57 PM, and the first officer arrived at the incident at midnight Sunday.
A news conference was held by Officer Vasquez about the shooting incident that occurred on Saturday night. He was asked to share details about Anderson Lee Aldrich, but Vasquez said that the case is under investigation and no details can be disclosed.
Later, the LGBTQ community shared a post after the incident that shook their community. In the post, they wrote, “Club Q is devastated by the senseless attack on our community.”
The post further reads, “Our prayers (sic) and thoughts are with all the victims and their families and friends. We thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack.”
