Alexander Ptak's Men's Ice Hockey Recruiting Profile
Mia Horton Personal Statement
My name is Alexander Ptak, I’m 15 and currently in tenth grade. I play the goalie position for the Potomac Patriots 16U High Performance (AAA) Team. I have been playing hockey since the age of 5, when I started in the Sidney Crosby’s Little Penguins Learn to Play program. I’ve also played on several teams in Virginia to include by order Potomac Patriots Junior Hockey, Reston Raiders Hockey Club, The St. James Hockey Academy, Loudon Knights Hockey Club and in Maryland on Team Maryland Youth Hockey for Peewee Major AAA Team.
I have developed from a lower A division all the way to AAA through dedication and perseverance. I have a passion for hockey that goes far beyond playing the sport. I believe in the development of players, fitness, and leadership. I have spent years developing myself, working towards perfecting taught methods and have adapted techniques though coaches such as Mitch Korn, Shane Clifford and Mike Chiasson. As I follow their goalie leadership and attended several of their goalie camps, one or more times a year. I often seek mentorship through local goalie coaches and team coaches, study hockey literature and watch training videos such as Maria Mountain. Through this development, I believe I have become a teachable student and a better teammate. I’ve adopted team culture, where we win and/or lose as a team. I make myself available as a goalie to work with teammates on and off the ice and encourage them through positive reinforcement when I’m both in and out of the net.
I am a straight A student and pride myself on academic excellence. My future goals include continuing to maintain a high-grade point average, while also continuing to develop my goalie techniques, and ultimately playing collegiate level hockey.
Thank you for looking at my profile,
