Alexey Pajitnov is actively involved as a game developer at The Tetris Company. Pajitnov served as the executive producer of the 2023 film Tetris.

Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984. However, it was only in 1996 that he founded The Tetris Company after moving to the States.

He collaborated with a Dutch video game designer, Henk Rogers to establish the company. Before the event, the Pajitnov never received any royalties from Tetris despite its immense popularity.

At present, Roger's daughter, Maya, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of The Tetris Company. Rogers is still the president of the gaming corporation.

In 1996, Pajitnov was approached by Microsoft. He joined the team and helped develop several puzzle games, some of which were also included in the Microsoft Entertainment Pack: The Puzzle Collection.

His other credits as a game developer include Microsoft Pandora's Box and Hexic.

The Soviet-born video game designer served as the executive producer of the 2023 movie, Tetris. He was joined by his fellow companion, Henk Rogers, for the production job.

Speaking of the film, Pajitnov stated that the movie has a lot of metaphorical representations of the Soviet Union. However, the film is an honest representation of the creators' journey.

Pajitnov attended the SXSW world premiere of Tetris along with Rogers on March 31, 2023, held in Austin, Texas. They had a good time with the entire cast members of the movies.

The 67-year-old is actively involved in the Tetris company now run by Maya Rogers. He believes he still has some contributions to make in developing the game.
