Anthony Colletti Jr's Baseball Recruiting Profile
Emily Wong Personal Statement
My name is Anthony P. Colletti Jr., I am 17 years old and a senior at Union Catholic Regional High School in Scotch Plains, NJ. I am a 3 year varsity starter. I am the starting third baseman and a starting pitcher. As a freshman I went 4-1 with a save and 1 no decision pitching and helped my team win the Union County Conference-Mountain Division 2010-2011 Championship. My sophomore year I was 1-2 with a save and 3 no decisions. My junior year I finished with a 3-1 record with a save and 2 no decisions with a era of 1.78 and was named to the Star-Ledger Newspaper Third Team and First Team All Conference two years in a row. I throw a 4 seam and 2 seam fastball. I have command of all my pitches. I will not hesitate to throw my off speed pitches in any count. I am poised and I have a very good idea as how to pitch. I am competitive on the mound and I have the ability to handle the pressure of a big game. I am a hard worker and I am very coachable. I also represented my school and Union County in the Essex-Union County Underclassmen All-Star game this past June. My goal in my senior year is to win as many championships as we can and as the team captain I will lead the way!
The past two years, I have played summer and fall ball with Full Count baseball where I pitch and play first base.
Ever since I was seven years old and was chosen to play on our nine year old All-Star travel team, my love for the game of baseball has been incredible. That year our team, North Elizabeth Baseball achieved unexpected success. We won the Cal Ripken District 12 Championship and the Cal Ripken 9 year old State Championship. I was the starting second baseman for that team, and won two more State Championships as well as many tournaments and awards as the years moved on.
I entered high school with a work ethic that made me the person I am today. I was an Emerging Leader in my Freshman and Sophomore year and a Student Ambassador in my Junior and Senior year. I represent my school at various functions throughout the school year. I am proud to represent my school. My education is very important to me now and in college.
I have played baseball for ten years, and I would like to have the opportunity to play the game I love in college. I am a team player and I know I can contribute to any team that I play on. My hard work and passion for the game will drive me towards my ultimate goal of playing baseball at the highest level possible.
