Ashley Darby father Chuck Boalch is living in Atlanta, Georgia with his new family. Chuck and her mother Sheila Matthews got divorced 33 years ago. 

Darby was raised by her mother alone. Chuck never bothered to inquire about his first child, Ashley, nor did he try to establish contact. The 34-year-old told the media that her father blocked her on Facebook when she attempted to make contact requesting to meet him.

It was hurtful, but she couldn't just let go. She had a nagging desire to meet her father and try to make things straight. Darby was attempting to start a family of her own. She wanted to clear everything out before she did that. She wanted her kids to have some answers about their grandparents if they ever inquired about them. Thus, she felt responsible for fostering those relationships.

Ashley met her father Chuck for the first time as an adult on an RHOP episode

In August 2019, Darby met her biological father on one of the episodes of The Real Housewives of Potomac for the first time after he had abandoned her as a child. When asked about the expectations of the meeting, Darby said she was looking for some sort of acknowledgment from her birth father.

All of Darby's family members advised her against the meeting. Aunt Sheila herself had made many failed attempts to talk to her father since 2011. She even pointed out that Darby's mother made a wise decision by keeping her away from Chuck.

Darby was hopeful that her father would at least accept her leaving the past behind. She took a trip to Atlanta, Georgia, on a Sunday episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. It was an emotional trip for the star as she was looking to tie a loose string from her past.

Darby was accompanied by her mother, aunt Sheila, and uncle, Jim. This was also the first meeting of the RHOP star with her Aunt and Uncle in 12 years. They had only remained in contact over the phone. Darby opened up that her Uncle and Aunt were the only people from her father's side with whom she still had correspondence.

The RHOP star added that it warms her heart to know that her aunt and uncle still make an effort to talk to her and care about her. Despite the fact that her father takes no notice of her at all.

They went to Chuck's house to confront him. Cameras weren't allowed on the property, so everything was recorded on the cell. For one, the conversation between the estranged family was short-lived and unpleasant.

When recalling the meeting, Darby said that her father, Chuck, opened his front door. Her aunt, Sheila, introduced Darby to her father. But before Darby could say anything, her father closed the door and locked it. 

In an interview, Darby said she thinks much about her father. She added that she was tired of thinking about it. So, she wanted to meet him and close that chapter of her life once and for all.

Ashley has no contact with her father now

After the heart-crushing meeting with her father, Darby said it was pretty hurtful but then realized that she came out much stronger from that event. She told in an interview that although she was hurt, she stood strong as she hadn't planned on how she would respond had he shown a  positive gesture.

The experience of abject rejection from Darby's father was hurtful but what was more difficult to get over was the fact that he has two sons with whom he had a good relationship. It made Darby realize that his father doesn't have a problem showing affection; he consciously refused to acknowledge her family. This realization added insult to injury for the 34-year-old.

The 2019 meeting was the final pursuit from the three women to contact Chuck Boalch. After the grave response from the man, none have looked that way. Darby expressed that it was a big moment as it gave them the closure they needed from the man who was not open to them at all.

On 20 August 2019, Keeping It Real All Housewives - Bravo Television Real Housewives Series posted a photo of Chuck Boalch and Ashley Boalch Daby side by side on their Facebook page.

The Page wrote, "This is Chuck Boalch. He is Ashley Boalch Darby's No Good Racist Deadbeat So Called Biological father. I feel very, so very and for my beautiful, intelligent girl Ashley. He doesn't claim his daughter or want anything to do with her." 

It added, "Even though it hurts Ashley, Chuck is the one who is missing out. He has this drop-dead gorgeous daughter and a very beautiful new grandson that he chooses not to get to know or have a relationship with. One day he will pay dearly for what he has done to Ashely because god will see to it that he pays dearly."
