“Bag of bones” Tyson Fury’s father brutally mocks Oleksandr Usyk’s new physique ahead of anticipated 2023 bout
Mia Morrison The boxing world was greatly amused when Oleksandr Usyk decided to mock Tyson Fury with a post-swimming session photo. Tyson has struggled with weight issues earlier and it’s unclear what message the Ukrainian was trying to deliver. Tyson Fury’s father was not going to sit idly by as his son got mocked and decided to clap back.
One of the most anticipated matches in the history of Boxing was the match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Unfortunately, owing to negotiation difficulties the fight never managed to materialize.
On the other hand, ‘The Gypsy King’ eventually decided to call it a career and hang off his gloves to move away from the world of boxing.
Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua faced a new prodigy named Oleksandr Usyk twice and got defeated every time. Before long, Usyk became the holder of the IBF, WBA, and WBO heavyweight titles.
Fury soon realized that his time to retire was just not here yet and made a comeback against Willian Whyte. After winning that bout he had another successful matchup against Derek ‘Del Boy War’ Chisora.
After the Chisora fight the boxing world witnessed a legendary scene as Fury and Oleksandr had a face-off first and got Joe Joyce involved in the mix later. It was a clear sign that a potential matchup was probably on the way.
Keeping with the tradition, both fighters decided to take jabs of different caliber at each other using social media.
What did Tyson Fury’s father say?
John Fury reacted to Usyk’s poolside picture by saying, “When you’re fighting a blown-up middleweight, it looks like his body has departed from him. I don’t know what happened to him, How has he got the body that he got fighting Anthony Joshua to that poor excuse of a man getting out of a swimming pool? What did he do in between? What did he do? You tell me. I know, and you know.”
He elaborated, “He just looked like a bag of bones getting out of the swimming pool. A pair of shoulders, well, I’ve seen young ladies with a bigger pair of shoulders.”
The highly-anticipated bout is expected to take place in 2023.
