BMKG: Expect Cloudy Morning in Jakarta, Thunderstorm at Night
William Harris TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasted that the weather conditions in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 13, will be overcast throughout the day, with precipitation expected in the evening until early morning.
The agency also issued an early warning for the possibility of rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in parts of West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Central Jakarta in the early hours of the day.
The entire Jakarta area, including West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta will be enveloped by cloudy skies in the morning, except the Thousand Islands which will be wet with light rain. For the rest of the day, the capital city will remain overcast.
In the evening, light rain is predicted to drench West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands, while cloudy skies will still hang over the other two regions, namely South Jakarta and East Jakarta.
In the early hours of Wednesday, Feb. 14, which marks the day of the 2024 general elections, all areas in Jakarta will experience light rain. The BMKG also issued an early warning of the possibility of rain followed by lightning and strong winds or thunderstorms.
