Gervonta Davis defeated Ryan Garcia on Saturday and is already thinking about the next fight, according to his manager Calvin Ford, his best bet would be a rematch against the Mexican boxer Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz.

Ford believes that Pitbull Cruz is a much bigger challenge than 'King Ry' was

"I would say, Pitbull," Ford responded in an interview with ES NEWS when asked about which fight he preferred whether this rematch or the winner between Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko. I will always say Pitbull," he replied.

Ford then was asked if this fight against the 'Pitbull' would set the record straight with the WBA lightweight champion, since according to Takn, he had a hand injury. Without hesitation, Ford answered yes.

"Yes, we want to prove that point. And I know he (Gervonta) wants that fight to beat him again. It would be another huge fight," he elaborated

'Pitbull' Cruz is the only opponent to take Gervonta Davis to a decision fight since 2014 when they fought on December 5, 2021, with the judges giving the unanimous win to 'Tank' Davis with close cards.

After the fight, Tank argued that he hurt his hand and that this prevented him from defining the fight in a much clearer way, as he has done throughout his brilliant career, which keeps him undefeated with 29 fights, of which 27 have ended before the 12th round.

Gervonta Davis: Pitbull Cruz was a tougher opponent than Ryan Garcia

This Saturday, Gervonta Davis quipped that Ryan Garcia turned out to be a lower-level opponent than the ones he has had before, after knocking him down twice and finishing him with a spectacular hook to the liver in the seventh round, from which King Ry could not get up.

"Yeah, that's for sure," Davis said tersely when asked how tough 'King Ry' was against other opponents.
