Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is fresh out of defeating Jermell Charlo with ease during a September 30 fight in Las Vegas. It's not even been a month and there are already reports from ESPN that claim the Mexican champions is thinking about his next fight in May. The famous 'Cinco de Mayo' celebration is one of Canelo's favorite dates to fight and his promotion team is already working on a potential rival for him. The list of short but filled with extremely talented fighters, all fiveof them are currently undefeated. According to a report from ESPN, these five fighters remain a true option for Canelo to fight in May but who is the most suited boxer to get his chance?

David Benavidez (27-0)

If we are talking about the one fighter who has the best possible weight to go head-to-head against Canelo, that man is David Benavidez. The Phoenix-born fighter is currently at the top of a list of contenders who could neotiate a fight against Canelo at Super Middleweight. In experts' opinions, he may be the one who has the best chances of winning against the Mexican champion.

Demetrius Andrade (32-0)

The southpaw with Cape Verdean descent is slightly below Canelo's weight class but that doesn't mean he can't go up in size a little bit to fight him. Andrade has also been one of the most talked-about boxers who could take on Canelo if the opportunity presented itself. But there are three other opponents who have a better chance at getting to Canelo in May. Andrade is fighting Benavidez on November 25, the winner seems deserving to fight Canelo next.

Terence Crawford (40-0)

Out of all the fights Canelo could make in May, the one against one of the world's best pound-for-pound boxers is the highest ranked possible match up. Terence Crawford took a while to get the respect he deserves but he is finally at the top of the food chain right now. There is only one problem though, Terence Crawford is a born Welterweight. If he wanted to fight Canelo, he would have to go up too many weight classes in order to fight him.

Dmitry Bivol (21-0)

The one fight that seems more difficult for Canelo is a rematch against Dmitry Bivol at Light Heavyweight. Although the Russian boxer has already stated he would go down in weight to fight Canelo, there is still a long negotiation ahead if the two boxers would agree on anything. Alvarez's crown was bent by Bivol but going up in weight classes always has to be mentioned.

Jermall Charlo (32-0)

The other Charlo twin declined to fight Canelo and his brother took the fight, he is another prodigy like his brother. However, personal issues have taken him away from the spotlight but recent training has proven he is working hard in order to get back to his best form. Just like his brother, Jermall would have to go up a weight class in order to fight the Mexican boxer. Out of thses five potential rivals, Benavidez is the one who makes the most sence in terms of weight.
