LONDON, England -- Substitute Simao and central defender Ricardo Carvalho struck in the final eight minutes as Portugal beat Brazil 2-0 in a friendly international at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

It was Dunga's first defeat in seven games as Brazil coach since taking over from Carlos Alberto Parreira after last year's World Cup.

And it and left the South Americans, who have won 11 of their 17 meetings, still looking for their first win over Portugal since 1989.

Portugal broke the deadlock after 82 minutes when Quaresma chipped over a lovely cross from the right and Simao darted in front of central defender Luisao to hit the ball first time low into the corner past keeper Helton.

Carvalho hooked home a cross in the final minute to secure the victory that gave Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari his second win over his home country following a 2-1 victory in Porto in 2003.

Brazil, playing at Arsenal's stadium for the second time in five months, almost went ahead two minutes before the interval when central defender and captain Lucio hit the bar from close in following a free kick.

Simao had replaced Cristiano Ronaldo after 64 minutes, one of six Portuguese changes during the second half. Brazil made five.

Manchester United winger Ronaldo was jeered throughout and had to withstand some fierce tackles before being taken off.

Ronaldo, back in the English capital just three days after he was accused of diving to earn a penalty in United's win at Tottenham, has grown used to being taunted this season after his role in Wayne Rooney's dismissal when Portugal beat England in the World Cup.
