When one English mom was criticized for breastfeeding in public, she had an unusual—and aggressive—response. According to an anonymous woman, the nursing mom squirted her with breast milk after she asked her to go somewhere else.

“To the lady [at] Dartford park who thought it was appropriate to breastfeed her baby [while] my child and very easily distracted husband sat nearby,” the woman posted on the Dartford Gossip Facebook page. “I don’t think it was necessary for you to react the way you did just because I asked you to go somewhere private, telling me to fuck off and squirting me with your boobs was incredibly uncalled for.”

Adding, “I hope you are ashamed of yourself!” the woman’s post received a lot of criticism. While many agreed that the squirting was unnecessary, they argue that the mom had every right to feed her baby wherever she chose.

“Absolutely disgraceful, you should be ashamed of yourself… if you don’t like what you see, look away!” wrote one person, while another added, “That woman was feeding her child and you interfered in her life, not the other way round.”

A lot of people also slammed the husband for his apparently wandering eye. “You’re just upset that instead of your husband being a respectful individual he had to ogle a breastfeeding mother. That’s sick,” one woman commented.

Regardless of whether or not the mom’s reaction was appropriate, the woman who suggested she go somewhere private was likely in the wrong, according to England’s National Health Services’ website.

The organization says that nursing moms “shouldn’t ever be made to feel uncomfortable about breastfeeding in public” and that under the Equality Act 2010, it’s “illegal for anyone to ask a breastfeeding woman to leave a public place, such as a cafe, shop or public transport.”
