Heading into Monday's road game against the Atlanta Hawks (7-3) at State Farm Arena, the Milwaukee Bucks (9-1) were the only undefeated team remaining in the 2022 NBA season, but guard Dejounte Murray carried his side to victory without teammate Trae Young on the court.

Young, 24, was ruled out against Milwaukee due to a shin injury, a wise decision by Atlanta head coach Nate McMillan.

Murray, 26, carried the Hawks to victory with 25 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds.

AJ Griffin, however, was the story of the night, helping Murray and company with 24 points in 31 minutes off the bench.

Bucks started off strong, taking an 11-point lead into the second quarter, but the Hawks eventually cut it down to a six-point deficit by halftime.

Giannis Antetokounmpo can't save Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo only played 27 minutes, but finished the game tied with Murray for the game-high 25 points, not enough to overcome the home side.

The third quarter saw Atlanta start to control the game, outscoring Milwaukee by 12 points to lead into the final frame.

Bucks crumbled despite not having to face Young, while Hawks rose to the occassion, sealing the victory by outscoring the visitors 28-18 in the fourth.

It's important to note that Milwaukee was also without a key player in Khris Middleton, who has yet to play this season.

Bucks fans should not be worried about the loss to the Hawks and should instead focus on Wednesday's road contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
