Supermodel Cara Delevingne has spoken honestly for the first time about her addiction issues since she became sober, stating that feeling stable was 'worth every second' of the recovery process.

She spoke about her experiences during an interview with Elle UK and it was very revealing for her fans who are very keen on learning about her situation.

"It hasn't [been easy], but there have never been moments when I'm like, 'This isn't worth it,'" she told the magazine. "It's been worth every second. I just don't know what it would take for me to give it up. I am stable. I'm calmer."

"For a long time, I felt like I was hiding a lot from people who looked up to me. I finally feel as though I can be free and myself, fully," she added.

Feeling 'feral'

In 2022, Delevingne took the decision to check herself into a rehab centre for substance abuse issues, which is never an easy decision for anyone to take. She admitted that the paparazzi pictures that surfaced of her showing erratic behaviour at an airport were a reality check for her.

Speaking to Vogue, she had previously explained that being on drugs made her feel 'invincible' but she had become 'feral' in her behaviour.

"It's a scary thing to the people around you who love you," she said at the time. "At that point, there was a lot of people who were very worried, understandably so."

"I wasn't really worried ... but that is the nature of the disease," she added. It had also become clear that she would either 'end up dead, or doing something really stupid' if she did not seek help.
