Check out a new tree house listed in East Point
Mia Horton If you live in metro Atlanta, you can now give your staycation plans an upgrade. A new listing on Airbnb gives renters a chance to spend a night or two in a lush tree house.
The East Point listing, which is owned and operated by College Park resident Darrel Maxam, is a spacious 700-square feet.
It’s equipped with air conditioning/heat, electricity, a full bathroom and an outdoor shower, according to the listing.

There's also the East Atlanta property where guests can stay in a tree house surrounded by llamas and bamboo.
But Maxam told Curbed Atlanta that he’s confident his property brings something additional to the market.
"I realized that in the metro Atlanta area, thousands of people rent out their homes, but there were only two treehouses," Maxam told Curbed. "I wanted to make sure I topped the other two, build a better product, sit back at let people just come."

The tree house — which sits in a 400 year old oak tree, according to the listing — is also set up to host events, including wedding ceremonies and dinner parties, the listing says.
The property is a new listing, but has already received a number of rave reviews. And according to the site, the listing has been viewed more than 500 times in the last week alone.

Another reviewer, Beth, said, “Every design detail is so perfectly and well thought out.”
The property is listed for $175/night on weeknights, plus a $45 cleaning fee and $28 service fee. On weekends, it’ll cost you around $275 per night to stay in the tree house.
