Acouncilor detonated two grenades during a meeting at a council headquarters in Keretsky, western Ukraine.

The horrifying incident, which took place early on Friday, was captured on film- the meeting was being streamed live via Facebook. As evidenced in the footage the councilor, who was leaning on the door of the room, suddenly removed two live grenades from his jacket pockets, before throwing them on the floor. There was an extremely heated discussion taking place in the minutes leading up to the incident.

After the man tossed the grenades all those present stopped what they were doing, completely bewildered and unsure how best to react. By the looks of things, it seemed as if many thought it was a hoax- virtually no one moved as they watched the explosive devices fall.

26 people were wounded as a result of the attack and six are in a grave condition, revealed a statement released by the police. The motive behind the attack is still unknown.
