How to Craft Health Potions in Horizon Forbidden West

There are two ways you can craft health potions in Horizon Forbidden West – on the fly while out in the wild, and on a crafting bench. If you want to make a health potion in the wild, press and hold the “down” button on the d-pad. This will make Aloy crouch into the crafting positions, as it were. Then, cycle through craftable items using left and right, also on the d-pad. When the health potion you want to obtain is highlighted, press and hold X. That’s all there is to it. That said, you do need to have the appropriate ingredients. Here’s a list of them.

• Small Health Potion – Medicinal Berries x2, Wild Meat x1
• Medium Health Potion – Medicinal Berries x3, Wild Meat x3, and Vigorstem x1
• Large Health Potion – Medicinal Berries x5, Wild Meat x5, Fiberzest x1

If, on the other hand, you want to use the workbench, you just need to go to one. They’re in your base, in all settlements, and pretty much any shelter. Using a workbench to craft health potions in Horizon Forbidden West, you will sometimes spend less materials. More importantly, the bench actually uses resources from your stash, rather than your immediate inventory. So, it has its perks.

Other than health potions, you can heal by pressing up on the d-pad. If your medicine bag is full enough, that is. Make sure to collect various healing plants to keep that bag stocked. You can see how much you have in the bottom left of the screen, above the green plus sign.
