Personal Statement

I am currently a University student in Australia studying Mandarin Chinese and Business. I have been running since I was 12 years old and my dream is that I will run in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. It will hurt. But the access to coaching and funding provided by colleges in The United States would be an immense opportunity for me to better myself as an athlete, as I feel I have hit a wall here in Australia in terms of access to coaching and support people. 

I believe in teamwork, especially in an individual sport. I am a leader off the track (Achieving my Queens Scout Award ~ USA's Eagle Scout) and will thrive with a competitive training partner on-track.

I work hard to achieve consistently high academic results, am committed to many social clubs and volunteer on the board committee of one of them. I work hard, am consistent and I will be at training everyday regardless. I will be a role model in this. "Let it never be said that I didn't give it my absolute best and fairest chance".

I am open to all colleges and would appreciate finding one where I can push myself both academically and on the track.

2016 was a poor season for me due to personal issues. Ready to run faster times given the opportunity. I'd love to hear from you and learn how we can work together.
