Personal Statement

My name is Dru Delano, a 5’7 libero/D.S. from Redondo Beach, California. I currently attend and play volleyball at Redondo Union High School, and play Club for Surfside 17 PV Legends. This upcoming season will be my 7th year playing club volleyball, and throughout those seasons, I have learned important lessons, been on unforgettable journeys, made some great friends, and, without a doubt, become insanely passionate for this sport. I have a calculated 2.7 passing average, 6’9 reach, and 8’6 approach reach. My team currently plays in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) which hosts the top 36 teams of Southern California. WooHoo!

I am a silly but dedicated teammate that spends long hours in-and out of the gym, always striving to improve - as a player and person. I value my teammates as close friends and will motivate and support them with all my heart.  But as a Player, I'm relentless!  When you see me play, you will never see a ball drop without me hitting the floor, or flying through the air to keep it alive. Volleyball truly makes me happy and I look forward to it every single day! Continuing to play at the college level, while working toward my Degree, is my top priority and goal.
