Eddie L. Hargrove Sr. – Metropolitan Funeral
Andrew Mckinney Eddie Louis Hargrove Sr. was born on October 16, 1942 to Elizabeth Velma Hargrove and Edgar Louis Hargrove in Northampton County, North Carolina. On January 28, 2022, he was called home by our Heavenly Father. He was surrounded by his loved ones as he transitioned.
Eddie was educated in the Northampton County, North Carolina School System. Later, he relocated to Virginia with his parents. He worked for many years in the Shipbuilding Industry as a Sandblaster for various contractors, but mostly with Maine Industry which later became Production Services. Over the years, he also held supervisory and project lead positions through his tenure with the company. He’s worked on contracts in many shipyards in the area to include Allied Repair Service, Berkley Shipyard, Colonna’s, Norshipco, Metro Machine, Newport News Shipbuilding, and Portsmouth Navy Yard, as well as many other contracts held throughout the United States. Eddie was an advocate for job placement for anyone who wanted to work, and he provided many opportunities for a number of individuals to gain employment.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Elizabeth Hargrove; siblings, Roland Hoover Hargrove, Helen Marie Hargrove, Agnes Diane Wilson, and Joseph Donnell Hargrove; and great-granddaughter, Joi Nikela Hargrove. Eddie is survived by one son Eddie Louis Hargrove Jr.; two daughters, Katrina Renee Muhammad (Gary) and Sheree Evon Hargrove; two brothers, Randolph Hargrove and Calvin Hargrove (Annette); six sisters, Janice Barrom, Carolyn Scott, Mattie Mills, Brenda Taylor, Francine Mcquillia (Arthur), Antionette Bell (Carlton); sister-in-law, Hattie Harris; eight grandchildren, Kiana Weathers (Twan), Eddie Dendré Hargrove (Simone), Kenya Shukila Hargrove, Lorenzo Rashaad
Starks, Rakecia Jones, Sophia Benson, Destiny Jones and Myeshia Williams; nine great-grandchildren,Nevaeh Hargrove, Noelle Hargrove, Eddie Hargrove,
Michael Hargrove, Lula Hargrove, Le Lonnie Weathers, Saniya Gilmore Benson, Eugene Benson, Lauryn Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
