El Cosmico Hotel Review, Marfa, Texas, United States
Mia Lopez The rooms are an eclectic, assorted lot. The 13 vintage trailers have been restored with marine-varnished birch interiors, interesting furnishings and amenities including air-conditioning and heating, kitchenettes with refrigerators, basic cooking supplies and wireless iPod connectivity. All trailers come with a stocked dry goods minibar. Yurts are 22 feet in diameter and offer wooden floors, queen beds, a sofa, writing desk and electric outlets; teepees, also 22 feet wide, have brick floors, queen beds, heated mattress pads, a love seat and electric outlets. There are also canvas safari tents with similar amenities. Heated electric blankets are available for the yurts, tents and teepees.
There is also one Kasita, an artistic micro-home with pull-out queen beds, en-suites with showers, air-con and heating, a fridge and basic cooking supplies. The off-property Brite Building is located in a 1931 Art Deco building in downtown Marfa; a spacious 3,800 square-foot second-floor apartment with two bedrooms featuring king-sized beds, two bathrooms, separate living and dining rooms and panoramic windows. The Brite Building comes with daily housekeeping and Wi-Fi.
It’s important to note that most accommodations do not include a private indoor bathroom. Some trailers have an indoor toilet or shower, but most accommodation offers communal showers and toilets as shared bathroom facilities (towels are provided). Camping is also available for those who would like to bring their own tents.
