Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr and the undefeated boxing champ formed a unique duo when they were spotted arriving together courtside at Crypto.com Arena for the highly anticipated In-Season Tournament quarterfinal between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns.

Why was MPJ at the Lakers game?

Fans are accustomed to seeing Mayweather courtside in Los Angeles, where stars like himself, Jack Nicholson and Kim Kardashian often dot the sidelines. More of the intrigue centered around Porter, as social media users pitched theories about why the "odd duo" showed up together.

"MPJ a Lakers fan???" wondered a user on Twitter/X, while others even floated hypotheticals of a trade to LA.

"Watching a team he owns," replied a Nuggets fan, reminding everyone of last year's Western Conference Finals.

"At work on your day off," joked another reply under the video.

The simplest explanation? Porter's Nuggets play the LA Clippers Wednesday night, so he was already in town. Not much is known about his relationship with "TBE," but no matter the reason they showed up together, Mayweather and Porter got to see a great basketball game.

Lakers advance to In-Season Tournament semifinal in Las Vegas

LeBron James' Lakers and Kevin Durant's Suns battled it out for a place in the NBA Cup semifinals in Las Vegas, in a game that included drama, controversy and vintage performances from two of the NBA's greats.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see Mayweather, who owns a club in Las Vegas, to show up courtside there as well. The Lakers will face the New Orleans Pelicans after the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Indiana Pacers in the semifinal games on Thursday night.
