Four Main Characters In Narnia
Sophia Edwards The names of Four main characters in Narnia are Peter Pevensie, Susan Pevensie, Edmund Pevensie, and Lucy Pevensie. Peter is the eldest of the four siblings.
Peter Pevensie
Peter Pevensie is the eldest of the four Pevensie siblings.
He was 13 years old at the time of his appearance in the first The Chronicles of Narnia film. Peter was born in 1927 according to the book and the film series.
The character is portrayed by William Moseley in the film series and later by Noah Huntley as Adult Peter Pevensie towards the end of the first film. Peter Pevensie is the most mature among the four siblings and was given charge of taking care of the younger ones while his parents went off to fight in World War II.
In the first film, Peter and his younger siblings travel to Narnia and help Aslan defeat the White Witch. After Peter helps Aslan defeat White Witch, he is showered with several honorable titles including Majesty King Peter the Magnificent.
His other titles include High King of Narnia, Emperor of the Lone Islands, Lord of Cair Paravel, and Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Lion.
In the second film The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Peter helps Prince Caspain seize power from his uncle King Miraz and hands over the ruling power to Caspian. Peter returns to the real world vowing he will never return to Narnia.
The second film of the series also marks the end of Peter's character. He does not return to Narnia in the third film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Susan Pevensie
Susan Pevensie is the second child among the Pervensie siblings.
Susan is 12 years old at the time of her appearance in the first film of The Chronicles of Narnia franchise. She was born in 1928 according to the book and film series.
Anna Popplewell portrays the character of Susan while she is 12 years old and actress Sophie Winkleman portrays the character of adult Susan. She has a cautious personality and always uses her common sense to advise others. She is also known for her gentle personality.
In the first film, the elder sister of the Pervensie siblings wields a magical bow and arrow. She does not miss her target and also has a horn in possession which brings support when blown.
After Susan along with her other siblings helps defeat White Witch, she is crowned Queen Susan the Gentle and shares the monarchy with her elder brother and younger sister. She also has other titles including Marksman Queen and Queen Susan of the Horn.
In the second film, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Susan is dragged into Narnia along with her siblings after Prince Caspian blows her magical horn. She helps her siblings and the Prince to defeat King Miraz.
Susan's exceptional combatant is seen in the second film but she also vows not to return to Narnia. On the Earth, Susan is seen sitting alone at Strand Underground where a boy recognizes her and ask if they have met before, referencing the budding romance between Susan and Prince Caspian in Narnia.
Edmund Pevensie
Edmund Pevensie is the third child among the four Pevensie siblings.
He is also the second one to ever set foot in Narnia while following his younger sister Lucy to the wardrobe. Edmund did not believe the story of Narnia and the wardrobe entrance in the beginning and accompanied Lucy to mock her to the wardrobe.
Edmund is 10 years old at the time of his appearance in the first film of the series. He is also the character who develops the most through the first film changing completely from an arrogant mocking person to a compassionate and loveable character at the end.
In the first film, he goes to Narnia following his younger sister and gets in contact with the White Witch who gives him the enchanted Turkish Delight which instantly gets him addicted. The White Witch offers to make Edmund her heir and later king in exchange for bringing his siblings to her castle.
Although Edmund had seen and experienced Narnia, he denies it to his two elder siblings and paints Lucy as a liar. However, while they return to the fantasy world together, he sneaks to meet White Witch but gets arrested and was about to be killed when Aslan's rescue team frees him.
At the end of the first film, Edmund is completely reformed and helps the Narnians, Aslan, and his other siblings to defeat White Witch. He is crowned as King Edmund and co-ruler of Narnia. His other titles include Duke of Lantern Waste, Count of the Western March, and Knight of the Noble Order of the Table.
The second film sees Edmund's character become more mature than Peter's or Prince Caspian's. He does not argue between the two but does not miss an opportunity to take charge. He is also grown more caring towards Lucy, whom he despised in the first film.
Unlike Peter and Susan, Edmund returns for the third film in the franchise. He comes along with his younger sister Lucy, and their cousin Eustace.
Lucy Pevensie
Lucy Pevensie is the youngest of the four siblings in the Pevensie family.
Lucy is portrayed by Georgie Henley as a child and Rachael Henley as an adult after she becomes the co-Queen of Narnia. Georgie and Rachael are real-life siblings.
The eight-year-old was the first one among the siblings to find the fantasy world of Narnia through the wardrobe at Professor Digory Kirke's mansion in the countryside. Although her accounts of discovering a fantasy world were not believed by other siblings, they soon saw Narnia for themself.
The youngest Pevensie sibling is the most faithful and sensitive among all siblings. At the end of the great war which defeated the White Witch, Lucy is also crowned Queen and co-ruler of Narnia by Aslan. Her titles included Her Majesty Queen Lucy and Queen Lucy the Valiant.
In the second film series, Lucy is the one to see Aslan for the first time among her siblings and has a hard time convincing them about Aslan's return. She is also seen growing closer to Edmund in the second film as the siblings had a rift in the previous installment.
The last film in the franchise The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is basically a film from her point of view. She is the main protagonist of the third film series and at the end of the film, Aslan reveals they are also too old to return to Narnia.
