George Santos’ drag queen video has created enormous pressure on him to resign from the government office.
According to a shocking claim, a new video released on Thursday revealed that Rep. George Santos of New York, a Republican, showed his involvement in drag shows in Brazil.
Santos was recognized in a 15-year-old photo showing two drag queens on Brazil’s Icara Beach. He is facing pressure to resign as details of his past emerge.
In a video that was allegedly initially obtained by the New York Post, Santos is seen listing off the locations where he gave presentations, all of which are well-known drag bars in the Rio de Janeiro area.
It is said to have been captured in 2005 during a Pride Parade in a Rio neighborhood.
Eula Rochard, a Brazilian drag performer, identified Santos, now 34, as her friend alongside her and claimed to be the second person in the picture in an interview with independent journalist Marisa Kabas.
Rep. George Santos, R-NY, who is under fire, denied on Thursday that he ever performed as Kitara, a drag queen, in Brazil. He called the reports “false.”
However, in the 2008 image, the person identified as Santos is shown sporting longer brown hair and a strapless red top or dress. Some makeup is discernible despite the photo’s roughness.
Reporter Marisa Kabas’ Substack published an image from 2009 that purported to show Santos dressed as a drag queen, which sparked the first reports about Santos’ stint as a drag queen early this week.
George Santos released an official statement
“The most recent obsession from the media claiming that I am a drag Queen or ‘performed’ as a drag Queen is categorically false,” Santos argued on Twitter.
The most recent obsession from the media claiming that I am a drag Queen or “performed” as a drag Queen is categorically false.
The media continues to make outrageous claims about my life while I am working to deliver results.
I will not be distracted nor fazed by this.

Santos’ detractors have made it apparent that their problem with him does not stem from his claimed cross-dressing but rather from his hypocrisy in supporting Republican Party ideas that aggressively oppose LGBTQ lifestyles.
The new lawmaker called the assertion “fake” and charged the media with chasing “outrageous” claims.
Santos has experienced many problems since he was elected to Congress in November.
Numerous others have charged him with using multiple identities, and he has admitted to lying about his employment and educational background.
Last week, when Nassau County GOP leaders spoke out against Santos in a news conference, Santos received his first significant call for resignation. His congressional district in New York includes Nassau County.
