What happened to Gloria Bambo?

On July 12, 2020, Gloria Bambo, a 20-year-old Black woman, tragically hung herself in her garage, discovered by her white roommate.

Although officials have officially ruled her death as a suicide, the internet community still has many unanswered questions and demands further investigation.

Some speculate that there may be more to the story and are calling for a comprehensive autopsy and a statement from the police to shed light on the events leading up to Gloria’s death.

However, Gloria’s friends have mentioned her struggle with bipolar depression, suggesting that suicide could have been a possibility.

Online communities have expressed concerns about the circumstances surrounding Gloria’s death, noting the three-day period before her body was found.

Gloria Bambo Found Dead Three Days After Going Missing

Three days after going missing, Gloria Bambo, a South African citizen and resident of McKinney, Texas, was discovered hanging in her garage.

Her former roommate, a white male, made the alarming discovery on Sunday, July 12, 2020.

According to a facebook post by her friend, Arnold, Gloria reportedly died on July 9 in a garage, where she remained for three days, despite people living and repairs being done there.

The lack of information surrounding Gloria’s case is concerning. We urgently need answers about what happened to her.

Who is her roommate? 

The McKinney department stated that Bambo, age 20, was discovered hanging by her “19-year-old male roommate.”

However, no information was given regarding the time or location of the incident.

A Twitter account with the handle @ImNotJanel posted a statement on behalf of Bambo’s roommate, explaining the circumstances surrounding her passing.

According to the roommate’s supposed statement, Bambo struggled with mental health challenges such as bipolar and anxiety disorders.

The roommate also added that Bambo was estranged from her family and recently lost her job.

The Collin County NAACP reached out to the McKinney Police Department, urging them to provide further findings from the investigation.

They emphasized that they would not rely solely on the roommate’s statement and requested additional evidence including the autopsy results, scene photos, the roommate’s official statement, and a handwriting analysis of the letter.

Their goal is to seek justice.

The department said Ms. Bambo’s 19-year-old male roommate found her dead. And has cooperated throughout the investigation. 

That explanation didn’t convince everyone.

S. Lee Merritt, a human rights attorney, publicly called out McKinney Mayor George Fuller on social media, demanding a probe into Bambo’s death.

He posted this and tagged McKinney City Councilman La’Shadion Anthony.

As the investigation continues, the Collin County NAACP has tweeted the McKinney Police Department seeking updates.

Someone remarked that they would not accept the sole statement from the roommate.
