Heritage Madrid Hotel Review, Spain
Mia Morrison The Haroma restaurant, open for lunch and dinner, is run by chef Mario Sandoval, whose other restaurant Coque (one mile away) holds two Michelin stars. Dishes include sturgeon in a saffron marinade with aubergine and purple garlic (€23/£20) and oxtail ravioli with sirloin and mint (€26/£23). The fixed price (€35/£31) lunch menu (Monday to Friday) is excellent value and includes three courses and wine; tasting menus are also available.
The conservatory-style bar, with teal and white floral fabrics and mirrored walls, is a civilised spot for afternoon tea (€25/£22), with sandwiches, cakes and pastries, and perhaps glass of cava (€6/£5). You can also have drinks and snacks on the pretty roof terraces.
Breakfast is served in Haroma and offers a small but well-chosen buffet that includes Ibérico ham, smoked trout, premium yogurts, fruit, a freshly made tortilla omelette and churros. Eggs and toasts are prepared to order. You can also choose to have a lighter breakfast or order individual dishes à la carte if you prefer – it is all about tailored personal service here.
