ISIS Burns Jordanian Pilot to Death
Mia Horton TEMPO.CO, Amman - Jordanian fighter pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh, 26-year-old, was burned alive by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Moaz's death was announced by Jordanian authority after ISIS published a 22 minute video showing Moaz burning to death. The video was posted on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, through ISIS' Twitter account.
Moaz had been held captive by ISIS after his plane went down near Raqqa, Syria, in December 2014, during a mission with US troops to eradicate ISIS.
Jordanian king Abdullah named Moaz a hero. The lieutenant pilot died defending his country and beliefs. King Abdullah urged that all Jordanian people to unite against ISIS.
Hundred of people roamed the streets of Amman to avenge the death of Moaz. Jordan reportedly will hasten the execution of Sajida al-Rishawi, the female al-Qaeda suicide bomber who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her involvement in multiple bombings.
