Jacoby Shaddix: American Rockstar

Jacoby Shaddix is the lead singer and songwriter for the rock band Papa Roach. Born on July 28, 1976, in Mariposa, California, Shaddix attended Vacaville High School where he played the clarinet in the school orchestra. He co-founded Papa Roach with Dave Buckner in 1993, initially playing the drums before switching to bass and eventually becoming the band’s lead vocalist.

Shaddix worked odd jobs, including as a dishwasher and a hospital janitor, to finance his apartment and focus on his music career. The band’s name, Papa Roach, was inspired by Shaddix’s step-grandfather, Howard William Roatch, who went by the nickname ‘Papa Roach’.

Papa Roach released their first full-length album, “Old Friends from Young Years”, in 1997, and later gained mainstream success with their major label debut, “Infest”. Shaddix has a net worth of $12 million dollars.

He married his high-school sweetheart, Kelly Michelle Shaddix, in 1997 and they have three sons. Shaddix frequently brings his family on tour with Papa Roach.
