Mia Horton Jimmie Vaughan Net Worth
Jimmie Vaughan is a blues/rock guitarist and singer from Dallas, Texas. He is the older brother of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan, and was a member of The Fabulous Thunderbirds from 1976-1989. Vaughan has a net worth of $1.5 million.
At 15, Vaughan started his first band, The Swinging Pendulums, and at 16, began playing with The Chessman. He moved to Austin in the late 1960s, played with musicians like Paul Ray and WC Clark, and opened for Jimi Hendrix. Vaughan recorded eight albums with The Fabulous Thunderbirds and left the group in 1990 to join his brother in recording the album, Family Style.
Stevie Ray Vaughan died in a helicopter crash just a few weeks prior to the album’s release, which devastated Jimmie. He retreated from touring and recording until 1993, when his friend Eric Clapton encouraged him to open a series of concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall. This propelled him back into music, and he released his next album, Out There, in 1998.
Vaughan has continued to achieve success and acclaim over the last few decades, and is still touring and releasing albums. He has been married twice and has twin daughters with his second wife, Robin. The family currently resides in Austin, Texas.
