Jordan Gregory Royster – Metropolitan Funeral
William Harris Jordan Royster passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 after a year-long battle with cancer. He was 14 years old.
Jordan was born on December 5, 2006 in Norfolk, Virginia. From an early age Jordan loved music. Each week, he would accompany his mother to work at Norfolk State University and make sure they were in place to watch the Spartan Legion enter the stadium and perform during halftime. Close friends even let him “march” with the band when the games were over.
Jordan attended B.M. Williams Primary, Deep Creek Central Elementary, and finally Deep Creek Middle School. He was a dedicated student and also a stellar athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and football. Always being the tallest and biggest student in his grade, he knew that football was his sport and played in youth leagues and eventually in middle school at Deep Creek.
Jordan was a gentle giant. He was a protective son, brother, and nephew, and went hard for those that he loved. He had an infectious spirit and smile that lit up every room and drew people in. Everybody loves Jordan!
Jordan is survived by his mother Jaime Dennison (Matthew) and father Ivan Alston, younger sister, Royce Dennison, uncle, Irvin Alston, two grandmothers, Jackie Royster and Vanessa Alston, one great-grandmother, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
