Emily Wong Personal Statement
My name is Joshua Cote. I'm a Class of 2022, 6'2", 225 lbs, catcher/first baseman from Midland, Ontario, Canada. Throughout my elementary and high school years, I have been very competitive on the volleyball, basketball, and badminton teams. I also played hockey outside of school when I was younger. I played 3 years of volleyball on a travel team, as well. One of the biggest highlights of my time playing volleyball was winning the provincial championship in 2018.
My interest in baseball started when I was 4 years old, playing tee-ball. While I have enjoyed playing many sports, baseball has always been my passion and my goal is to play at the college level. While attending college, I hope to pursue a business or education degree.
Over the years I have played on many different baseball teams at different levels. I believe that hard work is one of the key components to continue getting better. I work hard in the off-season and take my training both on and off the field seriously. I take pride in always doing my best and will continue to push myself to be the best I can be both in the classroom and on the ball diamond. I feel I have the experience needed to positively contribute to a collegiate program, and play at the next level.
