We’re partnering with Calfee Community and Cultural Center and other community groups to celebrate Juneteenth, a national holiday commemorating emancipation.
Mark your calendars now for this special event.
In addition to kids activities, the Pulaski County Juneteenth Celebration will feature African dancers and drummers performing, a drum circle, yard games, Juneteenth-themed storytelling and childrens book giveaways by Pulaski County Library System, and a panel discussion on the history of slavery in Appalachia. There will be two food trucks (Draper's Bakers and Lizard Licks), a Cake Raffle (all home baked!), cornbread tasting, and we'll also be raffling off a variety of other items, including several African sculptures. It's going to be a fun afternoon!
