Brown grew up listening to country music and a bit of RnB. After seeing his classmate Lauren Alaina Success on American Idol, he decides to audition for The X Factor and American Idol. He was cast in the X-Factor but quit in 2013 when producers wanted to include him in a boy band. Kane started singing covers of popular songs and posting them online, which later went viral for her wonderful voice.

One of his covers of Check Yes or No by George Strait made him famous and received more than seven million views on his Facebook. He started gaining followers which reached one million on his FaceBook. His popularity led him to release his own single Used to Love You Sober on October 8, 2015 reaching 11 million views within two weeks.

In June 2015, Brown released her debut EP titled Closer. It debuted on the Top Country Albums chart at number 22, and the single ‘Don’t Go City on Me reached number 43 on the Country Digital Songs chart. After releasing various singles and his self-titled album, he was able to garner collaborations from different artists.
