Kathryn Gallant's Softball Recruiting Profile
Mia Horton Personal Statement
WHY SHOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN KATHRYN GALLANT?
As a converted former catcher, I have a unique perspective on pitch selection, batter tendencies, and defensive situations. After several seasons of playing high level travel ball as a catcher, I switched over to pitching full-time just before the start of my 8th grade Middle School season and have never looked back. My first profile video was filmed in September of 2018 when I first entered high school as a freshman. Since that time, I have worked hard and see a pitching coach weekly. My speed, spins, and control have all improved substantially in that brief period of time. Updated videos have been posted so that you can objectively track my progress. I made the varsity team as a freshman for a high school team that has won two consecutive state championships. Hopefully, I can carry on the tradition of excellent pitching at my school.
On an academic level, I scored at the 98th percentile on the PSAT9, take multiple honors classes, and will continue to challenge myself with AP and honors classes throughout the rest of my high school years. If you reach out to me at any point in the recruitment process, you will find that, although I love softball, there is nothing more important to me than the quality of the academic programs at any school I will be attending.
There is more to a person than sports and academics. Community service is important to me and I do volunteer work with children in a local elementary school. I also enjoy playing saxophone in my school band and on occasion with the jazz band.
