On Thursday, the actress, director, and writer arrived at the Chanel and W Magazine dinner in New York City, debuting a fresh set of blunt bangs with sleek pin-straight hair. Bidding adieu to her wardrobe essentials of ballet flats and mom jeans, Katie paired her forehead-sweeping fringe with a sophisticated and chic look: a white button-up blouse, which she layered with a lacy cream crewneck sweater, and a pair of black, ultra-wide-leg trousers. She accessorized the elevated workwear look with black pointed-toe pumps, a coordinating chain shoulder bag, and a nose ring.

As for her glam, Katie kept it simple with a bronzy glow, a matte pink lip, and rosy cheeks.

Katie's hair transformation shortly comes after she stepped out in cute-yet-divisive flats not once, but twice in just the last week. First, arriving at the star-studded US Open sporting her posh ballet flats with the ultimate casual cool girl 'fit: a cream square-neck tank top, straight-leg blue jeans, brown Mansur Gavriel bag, and an argyle Miu Miu sweater slung around her shoulders. That look was followed by an all-black fit while walking the streets of NYC. For a subtle yet high-fashion look, she teamed a black halter tank top with black, baggy jeans and her trusty Mary Janes — this time a black patent leather pair.
