Keith Lynn Perry – Metropolitan Funeral
Sophia Edwards Keith Lynn Perry, 57, of Chesapeake, Virginia, affectionately known as Man, Bear, Pop Pop, Granddad, and Uncle Man or just Unc, answered his call to eternal rest on Thursday December 7, 2022. Keith was born on May 12, 1965 to the late Mildred Lee Perry and Alfred Roberts.
Keith was educated in the Chesapeake Public School system, and he was a proud graduate of Deep Creek High School. He completed his post high school education at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance with training in Airplane Maintenance. Keith was passionate about providing for his family. He held many jobs throughout the years, including as a convenience store clerk, but it was his love for driving that enabled him to work for many years as a CDL truck driver.
Keith accepted Christ in his life years ago and his struggles became the testimony for how God can pick you up, restore your life and give you the desire to live for Him. It was his love for his family and the friends he considered his family that motivated him to share his time, resources and jovial personality to help them in their time of need.
Ten years ago, Keith was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of cancer in the blood that requires lifelong treatment. Determined and fun-loving, you wouldn’t know of his struggles by his actions because he never gave up. He lived his life to the fullest and praised God every day through it all.
It is difficult to stress just how big his heart was and the love he had for his family and friends. His legacy is his heart for God and his love for those whom God placed in his life. His life is his testimony that helps us know that whatever you may go through, God will never leave you. God loves you and will comfort you and will reward your faithfulness when it is time for Him to welcome you home.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Roberts and his mother, Mildred Lee Perry.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Sharlene; one son, Markeit Perry; one daughter, Jaslynn Perry; five sisters, Phyllis Perry of Chesapeake, VA; Patricia Askew, Carol Liggins, Yvonne Overton (John), Cynthia Spencer (Clarence) all of Portsmouth, VA; three brothers, Chris Perry, Cornell Perry (Tiffany), Donnie Perry, all of Portsmouth, VA; three grandchildren, Aaralyn, Marseille, Aaron Garvey; a goddaughter, Sade Harley and her children Kierra and Kamryn; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends who are all considered family.
