Joe Biden addressed the nation in the annual State of the Union address on Tuesday night. While the President shouldered the weight of giving his speech, Senator Kyrsten Sinema stole the show while in attendance.

The Independent Arizona Senator showed up to the House Chamber in Washington D.C. in a bright yellow dress that upstaged the other politicians. While she didn't get to address the floor, Sinema's outfit stood out in the crowd and became the target of jokes online.

Kyrsten Sinema became the butt of jokes online

"Kyrsten Sinema got confused and thought this was the Grammys" one tweet joked. Another viral post likened her to Looney Tunes character Tweety Bird asking: "Who wore it better?" Sesame Street character Big Bird or the yellow Teletubby were other comparisons tossed into the cyberverse.

Several users were critical of the controversial Senator, who left the Democratic party on December 9th to become an Independent. "She is screaming for attention", one user wrote, while another added "Kyrsten Sinema would rather be on TMZ than CSPAN.

Former Democrat Sinema sat on the Republican side

Kyrsten Sinema, along with conservative-leaning Democrat Joe Manchin of West Virginia, sat with mostly Republican lawmakers, including Senator Mitt Romney of Utah.

It was her first State of the Union as a former Democrat. Sinema will be up for reelection in 2024, and have to leave office on January 3rd of 2025 if she doesn't win or run for another term.
