Lakers' Anthony Davis: Relationship With LeBron James Among NBA's Best Despite Rumors | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
Emily Wong Anthony Davis denied recent reports that he isn't close with Los Angeles Lakers teammate LeBron James.
"Me and Bron have one of the best relationships I think in the NBA as far as duos or teammates, regardless," Davis said, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "But they don't see that. They don't see the stuff we do off the court and time we hang out with each other. They see on-court stuff."
Questions about their relationship have surfaced since Davis was seemingly indifferent on the bench while James was setting the all-time scoring record:

"They're not boys," Colin Cowherd said of Davis and James on his podcast earlier this month (h/t Paolo Songco of Clutch Points). "It's not hostile, but they're not guys, right? You can tell from body language."
Last month, Cowherd reported James was "not happy" with Davis.
Others have also argued the two aren't close, including former player Kevin Garnett.
"No one wants to say this s--t...they ain't rocking," Garnett said of the Lakers duo on his podcast (h/t Yakshpat Bhargava of Basketball Network).
It's led to significant question marks about whether the two can remain teammates after another up-and-down season for the Lakers. However, Davis contends the reported issues are overblown.
"From the outside looking in, they don't know," Davis said. "It's not for them to know seriously, but me and Bron are fine. You can tell when we had our moments, for sure. But I think it's people just looking for a story."
James and Davis have only played 28 games together all season with both players dealing with injuries at different times. LeBron is still suffering from a foot injury that puts the remainder of his regular season in doubt.
Despite the issues, the Lakers could still earn a playoff spot. They entered Friday as one of four teams tied for eighth in the Western Conference at 36-37.
Both players are under contract through at least 2023-24 and could look to run it back next season.
