Lalibela Game Reserve Hotel Review, South Africa
William Burgess Staff members are friendly and helpful, rangers knowledgeable, and game seemingly co-operative. A couple of three-hour game drives per day are included in the rate, and even a two-night stay is likely to bring sightings of elephants (up close), rhinos, hippos (in largish groups), lions, giraffe (silhouetted against the setting sun), zebra (perhaps with a luminous blue drongo on its back), all sorts of surprisingly relaxed antelope, some very beautiful birds, and maybe cheetah. At the right time of year, baby animals are likely too.
Between drives, guests laze on the sunbeds, take dips in the pools, or have a massage (at Kichaka lodge only). Walking safaris, both predator-free and Big Five, are available (not included in the room rate).
