Lamptey in line for Brighton return; Estupinan still out
Sophia Edwards Barcelona head coach Xavi has no problems with Ilkay Gundogan's comments after the 2-1 Clasico defeat against Real Madrid last weekend.
Gundogan, 33, said after the loss that he expected “more anger” from his Barcelona team-mates in the dressing room after the defeat.
The Germany international, who arrived from Manchester City this summer, added that he wanted to see “more emotion” and “resistance” to defeat — especially given it was against their rivals.
Addressing Gundogan’s remarks ahead of Barcelona's trip to Real Sociedad tomorrow, Xavi said: “We all agree with what he says, we talked about it in the dressing room and that’s it, we haven't given it any more importance.
“We all think the same, we are at Barca and nobody has to tell us what the demands are here.
“Demands, excellence. No controversy has been generated in the dressing room, he wanted to clarify it and that’s it. That’s all there is to it.
“He expressed his anger, that’s all. Everyone does it in their own way. It’s cultural. The other day, Muller, the Bayern captain, came out to criticise as well. That’s normal. We are all angry, I can assure you. There is no more debate, that’s it.”
