DECATUR, Ga. -- DeKalb Police are working to track down three men who shot and killed a laundromat attendant at Belvedere Plaza.
The shooting happened just after midnight on Friday at the Spin Circle Coin laundromat on at 3537 Memorial Drive in Decatur, Ga.
Lt. Mark Lavigne, with the department's homicide unit, said the 25-year-old victim confronted three men that had been loitering outside the location. During the confrontation, the victim, who has not been identified, was shot multiple times before the men ran away.
"At this stage we are talking with witnesses to see if we can come up with any description on suspects," Lavigne said.
Family members of the victim came to the scene and were emotionally distraught upon finding out what happened.
The store owner said the victim had worked at the laundromat for about three months and was a father.
Police are not sure what prompted the altercation and are trying to determine if the incident was captured on surveillance video.
