The digit art has been spotted adorning the fingers of Beyoncé and Rihanna, and now Lily Allen has decided to introduce the craze on this side of the pond.

The 23-year-old Smile singer posted a picture of her new tattoo – the word “shhh....” – on another of the latest crazes, the social networking website Twitter.

Miss Allen, the daughter of Robin Hood actor Keith Allen, also appears to have had her nails decorated at the same time. But she provides little explanation for the adornment, nor reveals whether it is real or fake. She simply writes: “New tatt, Shhh.....”

She follows in the footsteps of troubled star Rihanna, who has previously been pictured with the word “Love” on her finger, and also has the word “Shhhh.....” along her index finger.

Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z are also known to be fans. They had the gossip columnists in a frenzy when they appeared bearing matching IV finger tattoos on their wedding ring fingers. It was later reported that they had the design inked on because it was the date of their wedding.

The latest tattoo revelation comes after Peaches Geldolf’s gave an impressive display of body art during a seen and sun and sea on a holiday in South America. Bob Geldof’s wildchild daughter, 19, already has around 20 tattoos – many of them references to friends and lovers including estranged husband Max Drummey.
