She joins her parents Albert (Dean) and Elizabeth (Betty) McElroy in heaven. She was born in Mars, Pennsylvania on December 15, 1956, and moved to Overland Park, Kansas in 1961.
She earned top honors from Shawnee Mission South in 1975 and Kansas University in 1979. She retired as Vice President of Finance from Kansas City Life Insurance and ERC (GE subsidiary) in 1992 after earning her MBA from Rockhurst University. Linda’s life was guided by her family, friends, and most importantly, her faith in Jesus Christ.
She was passionate about spreading God’s word and impacting her community. In retirement in Punta Gorda, Florida, she joined clubs, organizations, and volunteered. She tirelessly advocated for her Downs Syndrome son Spencer, giving him opportunities to contribute and bless others. She supported, nurtured, and loved her family, friends, church, and community daily. She was a servant who generously gave her time, talent, and love. Linda believed, like her father Dean, that man’s purpose is to glorify and enjoy God forever. Jesus called Linda home on Advent Sunday, bringing her peace. The Bridegroom brings the Bride home.
