Lorne Abony, born in Toronto in 1969, is a successful Canadian businessman with a net worth of $450 million. After graduating from the University of Windsor with a law degree in the mid-90s, Abony began his career as a lawyer at Aird & Berlis in Toronto. However, he later shifted his focus to entertainment and technology and founded Paw.net, an online pet supply company, in 1998. The company grew and was eventually sold to Petco and is now known as Petopia.
In 2002, Abony co-founded Columbia Exchange Systems Software PLC, which later became FUN Technologies. He served as the CEO and primary owner and eventually sold the company for around $500 million Canadian dollars. Abony also served as CEO and Chairman of Mood Media Corporation, which provides in-store media to major companies such as Nike, Hilton Hotels, and H&M.
Abony’s successful business ventures also include a 10% ownership in a marijuana company called Nuuvera, which was acquired for $670 million in March of 2018.
