Massy Arias was born Massiel Indhira Arias Mankofit on November 23, 1988, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic her father was named Dinda Arias, and her mother was named Indhira Arias, her parents divorced after she was born and she grew up with three older brothers named Hugo, Brildo and Semhen. Massy Arias attended Secondary School Babeque and she later enrolled at Queens College.

She grew up in the Dominican Republic but moved to the United States in 2004 and settled in Queens, New York, She began to pursue her fitness career after relocating to New York.

Massy Arias got into fitness training just to escape from depression which resulted from her brother having a terminal health issue, getting into a relationship with an abusive man who also cheated on her, smoking, and alcoholism, Her mother then encouraged her to take up fitness training as it was the only remedy at the time for her. However, she began to realize that spending time working out in the gym made her forget her problems sloo gave her a reason to live and she soon found happiness in the gym.
