Mia Lopez Monica Galetti, Marcus Wareing, and Gregg Wallace are back this year judging dishes and setting skill challenges. As the semi-finals commence, some of the restaurants featured on MasterChef The Professionals 2023 are those that have made it into the ranks of the Top 50 best in the world.
Monica reveals the “pressure for the chefs is immense” as they battle through the rounds. Each week, the contestants are whittled down, and, by the show’s final on Friday, December 8, there will only be one winner. Episode 17 sees the remaining six competitors split into two groups. From here, they are sent to cook under some of the UK’s finest chefs.

The stakes are high in Tuesday night’s episode as head chef Charlie, 22, sous chef Lauren, 29, and sous chef Tom, 24, fight to keep their place in the BBC show competition.
The trio are put through their paces by head chefs Jeremy Chan and Tom Shepherd.

Ikoyi restaurant on MasterChef
Jeremy Chan (@jeremychanikoyi) is the head chef and co-founder of Two-Michelin-starred restaurant Ikoyi.
He’s described on the show as “one of the UK’s most unconventional culinary stars.”
Jeremy grew up in Hong Kong and moved to the UK at eight years old.
He opened Ikoyi in 2017 and said that it was a “surreal” experience gaining a second Michelin star.
The 28-cover fine dining restaurant featured in episode 17 offers a tasting menu and a lunch menu at two different prices.
The website reads: “Our tasting menu is £300. It is served for dinner from Monday to Friday, as well as for lunch on Fridays. We offer a shorter lunch menu for £180 on Wednesdays and Thursdays.”

MasterChef The Professionals Upstairs restaurant
During episode 18, airing on Thursday, November 30, three semi-finalists head to another fine dining restaurant – Upstairs by Chef Tom Shepherd (@rest_upstairs).
Upstairs is based in Lichfield and is “Staffordshire’s first, and only One Michelin-starred restaurant,” per its website.
Tom hails from Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, and runs his 36-cover restaurant above his father’s jewellery shop.
Upstairs has a seven-course tasting menu and a four-course tasting menu served at lunchtime. A sample tasting menu at Upstairs costs £100.
