Marc Benioff, an American novelist and internet entrepreneur, is married to Lynne Benioff. Her husband, Marc, recently purchased TIME magazine for $190 million. 

Philanthropist Lynne Benioff serves on the boards of numerous organizations. She is a notable director on the University of California San Francisco Foundation’s Board of Overseers. 

She is a member of the boards of directors for the Forward, Common Sense Media, Benioff Ocean Initiative, and The Rise Fund. 

Salesforce, a San Francisco-based business that makes customer management software, declared on Wednesday that it would eliminate office leases and lay off 10% of its 80,000-person global workforce. 

The practice of renting out software services to internet-connected devices, or cloud computing, was invented by Benioff. 

According to the firm, Salesforce employees who lose their positions would receive approximately five months’ worth of pay, health insurance, career advice, and other benefits. 

The company’s technology was in high demand, millions of Americans were working from home during the pandemic, and Benioff, who is now the sole CEO of Salesforce, blamed himself for the layoffs in a letter to staff.
