Messi and the desperate plea of a father whose son was kidnapped by Hamas: Do what you can
Mia Horton Leo Messi's influence has a strong reach around the world and Alex Scherman is aware of it.
He is an Argentine citizen living in Israel who has asked the captain of the Argentine national team for help in finding his son, who was kidnapped by the Hamas organization.
"My son Ron, an Israeli soldier with Argentine nationality, was kidnapped in Gaza by the Hamas terrorist group. I know you must have thousands of requests for cases from people who want help. And I don't know if this video is going to reach your hands, but as a father I am doing what I can to get my son back into my hands," Scherman explained in a video.

Visibly affected, Scherman shared his heartbreaking message: "I know that a few words from you can work miracles. For Ron, my son, and for the Argentines who are kidnapped in the hands of Hamas".
Finally, he wanted to send a message to Leo Messi: "Do what you can, I hope these words reach your ears. We love and admire you."
How the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians began
The history of the conflict goes back to 1917, when the British government expressed its support for the establishment of a permanent Jewish state in Palestine with a letter called the Balfour Declaration, which recognized the right of Jews to rebuild their ancient homeland in Palestine.
This declaration was later endorsed by the League of Nations (the predecessor of what we know today as the UN).
The conflict reignited after the recent events at the Nova Music festival in the Negev desert, near the Gaza border where Hamas killed 260 people. According to the Disaster Victim Identification Service (ZAKA), more than 260 bodies were identified.
In the middle of the concert, while the music was playing, the anti-aircraft sirens sounded and Palestinian militiamen, on board different vehicles, opened fire as the attendees tried to flee.
